Use of Flex/Deform to validate clearance

Hi Guys,

Hope I get get some insight on this. I've tried messing with the FLEX feature but all I'm doing is confusing myself to death. First off I've never used any of these features most stuff I work on is static or sheet metal.

So here is my issue. I have a small button with four hook like clips/legs designed into it. I want to use the flex feature to verify that when the button is pressed into the hole that it will colapse enough to clear the hole diameter then pop back into place. I know that in it's static state that the part will fit like I want.

When I try using flex the button face also flexes, no place to mark it as a flat surface so it doesn't flex. Also while try to move one leg it affect the other two legs on either side. The only way I can explain this is by using four of your fingers to make a circle then slowly bring all four fingers together until they all touch at the axis to form a point.

Here's what the part looks like. Any help here would be awesome. Tried the help file, but as always - useless.
