Upgrading my workstation - Should I get a 2080 ti/ core i7 workstation or a xeon/quaddro rtx 4000 configuration? I don't see anything later than january 2019 that talks about the 2080 ti performance in solidworks. it looks like it would be a good nestle between the quadro 4000 and 5000.I also work in relatively large (~4000-~6000) assemblies on a somewhat regular basis, with the need for speed being crucial in some moments, especially with creating drawings. We have a (slightly) newer laptop with an i7 and it really blows past the desktop that I'm currently using, and I'm trying to change that because what we have in office should be better than what we take on the road. I've heard that the solidworks support is better for xeon/quadro systems, but I also saw a post where an employee stated that RTX support was coming to Solidworks, in a post asking about an RTX 2070 (before they were released). My personal computer has an i7 7700k & 2080 ti in it and it shreds through simple auto cad stuff, but we have a policy here that won't let me install solidworks on my personal computer to test, which is where all of our most complex assemblies are created/modified.
