Good Morning, my friendly SolidWorks gurus.
Our company has been using SolidWorks since the late 1990's. Unfortunately, during that time. no one was aware that the template files (PRTDOT, ASMDOT and DRWDOT) should have been updated over the years.
As such, we have some parts that were built with templates from the 1990's.I updated all our templates last year, however on the older parts, it's causing issues. We have a certain workflow where we use the join feature to join an assembly into one solid part. The "upgrade cosmetic threads" error is abundant throughout the older parts that were built on the older templates. While the simple solution is to upgrade cosmetic threads in those items, we use a PLM system and 99% of those parts are "released" and cannot be edited.
I've included a picture below. Every item in yellow is has the "upgrade cosmetic threads" error. While I understand the "correct" route to fix this is to upgrade the cosmetic threads, it's not practical in our environment. Is there a way to bypass the requirement to upgrade cosmetic threads? Any suggestions that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Edit: I've unchecked this setting and it does not fix the issue.
