Hopefully someone has a simple solution to this.

I have setup an Excel workbook to link some variable fields from the EPDM datacard.

Everything works great - however, I of course want more...

Some of the fields on the datacard are read only and I want the same level of protection in Excel.

I have tried locking the cells and protecting the sheet in Excel, but those particular locked cells don't update with the variable information.

I have been researching and it looks like there may be a way to unprotect and protect the file via an auto open vb macro.  Not sure how it would work though.

Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution?
