For many months I have experienced an intermittent problem of both monitors blanking without justification.  A lot of mouse shaking will bring them up but they quickly blank again and claim they see no signal.  Sometimes this would fix itself.

I assumed it was due to the display adapter overheating, but the air was cool today so I tried a hard reset, killing SolidWorks in the process.

The box rebooted and the screens are behaving perfectly.
