Hello -
I am trying to model a high-pressure nozzle in SolidWorks Flow Simulation and I get unphysical results.
Specifically, I have a very simple system, which is a combination of stock pipe (inlet/source) and stock nozzle (outlet/sink).
The inlet mass flow rate is ~1 lb/s, which gives me the inlet pipe pressure of ~10,000 psi.
The inlet temperature is set at 80F.
Liquid - water.
However, when I model this configuration the water in the inlet pipe heats up to unphysical temperatures, which go up with the flow rate.
I get hundreds of degrees F in my inlet pipe, which cannot be correct. So, what's wrong? Is SolidWorks incapable of accurately modeling fluid flow with pressures in the thousands of PSI range?
Thank you in advance,
MAX
