UNC vs Mapped Drive

What is the logic behind using a UNC path versus a Mapped Drive for toolbox?

I've always found mapped drives to be much more responsive.

Also, when the need arises I can relocate toolbox to a different location (folder or server) and re-map using the same letter.

Since mapped drives mask the UNC this helps to avoid the infamous SolidWorks error;

"Can't find this file, do you want to locate it, blah blah blah".

So I've always found mapped drives to be the better approach.

What do others use?
