This is very weird issue.  I have a pipe 1/4 sched 40 pipe modeled up and set as part number 13-227-310, it is extruded out at a lenght of 87.659.  This same part number has been added into the assembly in multiple locations and when I open it the extrude is the same length at 87.659.  Attached is a photo and on one side they have a distance mate that is the same, but on the opposite side one doesn't stick out as far .....
