Good morning All,
I'm having some trouble trying to figure out how to create an extruded cut from one part going thru another part within an assembly. Since I'm trying to edit within context, I'm not sure of the procedure to do this. I've used both "convert entities" and "intersection curve" in the past but only within one part itself. Now I have several parts mated together in an assembly and there was a customer change where the rib plates (see my screenshots and zipped pack and go files) must now go thru the bottom plate completely instead of the original plan of butting up to the bottom plate with a full pen weld. If I try the edit the "bottom plate" component, everything else is transparent and I don't think I can grab the rib plate perimeter as a cut to put in the plate since I'm in an assembly (not that familiar with modifications at assembly level, only part). Thanks for any advice. Hope this isn't too confusing. Basically trying to just put a cut in the long bottom plate (horizontal) using the perimeter of the vertical rib plates. Much appreciated for any help.
