I am currently trying to model a Flat Welded Top to an API 650 tank with C8x11.5 stiffners on top.  So naturally I used the Toolbox to create the stiffners at the top, and of course they intersect in the middle of the roof; and i was trying to figure out how to trim the beams so that the beams would cope to each other.  It seams that since i used toolbox components the surface commands do not show up, and i cant figure out how to boundary cut (if that is even possible).  Another idea that was going to try is to see if i can create just the 2d profile of the C-Channel using the toolbox, then extrude the part manually and create a surface, but i couldnt see where i could extract the 2-d profile of the C-Channel.

Attached is the assembly file.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
