Hi all.
Has anyone tried using iso-surfaces or the "Design Insight" plot in Simulation, for topology optimization?
At our university, we have recently installed a cool, but somewhat cumbersome software for topology opimization.
The process is based on a FEM analysis and removes elements with little or no stress, leaving only the material needed to support the loads applied. The outcome is quite an ugly, organic surface, composed of littel facets and gets quite cumbersome to work with. However, it can provide some interesting and surprising results early in a project when the general form of the product is still undecided.
Now, It seems like SW is capable of doing something similar, especially when looking at the Design Insight plot. But there is just the visual feedback. No way of actually using that information for manipulating the model. Or is there a way?
