Sometime in the past the company made the decision to not use the toolbox. probably partially because they wanted a bolt to have our part number rather than the generic toolbox description. The hardware is saved in a separate folder which is split into additional folders by diameter. Some of the hardware is toolbox parts renamed and saved to the folders and some comes from vendors. The folders are then accessed with the design library.
Recently (in 2017 and now in 2018 SP3) we have been seeing some, but not all of the bolts suddenly ask (upon opening an assembly) if we want toolbox to automatically create a new size bolt because it can not find the correct part. Then regardless what we choose it drops a toolbox bolt in the assembly which is again with the generic part number and description rather than the company preferred one.
It looks like each time it is a toolbox generated part that is doing this. How do we break the toolbox link to stop this? We have our files on the network without PDM but we each have the toolbox stored locally. Maybe breaking the link is not the correct solution?
