Hi all
1. For metric threads in features, thread depth is defined as 2xDiameter. I.e. when I need to use a M6 bolt I have to thread the holding part to a depth of 12mm. Do anyone know about what is the theory behind this of getting 2xdiameter for the thread depth?
2. Eventhough Nuts have a small thickness, they can bear the load. But when we have a thread hole, it needs to have a much more screw depth to hold the part. Can anyone explain these 2 for me?
Thanks for any help.
