Someone please help.
I'm in the process of making new title blocks for our drawings andSW is acting very strange. Here are the issues I'm having...
1. It is extremely difficult to position a note that I want to keepblank for user entry. The note does not actually snap to points soI cannot position them accurately.
2. When I do position the text and change the note attribute tocenter/center alignment the empty box shifts however once you entertext it jumps back to where it should be. What is up with this?
3. I cannot seem to resize an empty note box. I get the draghandles but cannot drag. What then is the purpose of the "fit text"option if you can't resize the box? Must you type text into the boxwhich will set the size (or allow you to resize), then delete thetext, then choose fit text?
4. When I use the "snap to center of rectangle" I get seeminglysame problem as in #2.
5. Can't seem to determine a method for which annotation block, ifoverlapping will be selected on a mouse click. Seems like lockinglayers would be perfect here! If you're wondering how this is anissue, I have a 2-line annotation and the second line is veryshort. The main user-entered field overlaps with the 2nd line blankarea. Granted this can be fixed when using the "define title block"feature in 09 but what a pain to create the block.
6. Why can't we use a type of table for a title block???? The easeof creating text in cells seems perfect for this application. Wouldbe nice to not necessarily have defined columns and rows, howevermore like a MS Word table style where you can have various numberof columns per row and rows per column etc. etc. using the mergeand split commands. This really seems like a no-brainer issue.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? Has anyone found aworkaround for creating nice looking drawings, formats and titleblocks?
Thanks,SolidworksDrawings And Detailing
