If you create a menu command for an EPDM add-in it can be used whether an item is selected or not.  However if you create a menu command for a task add-in and try to us it when nothing is selected you get the error 'This operation cannot be performed on selected item(s).' and the task is not activated!

Does anyone know how to bypass this and allow a task add-in to be activated even if a file or folder is not selected?
