Hi,

I have two parts : an aluminum tubular shaft and a plastic collar. I'm trying to see what the effect of going up and then down from ambient is i.e. in particular the effect on the thin walled shaft when compressed by the plastic collar.

I'm using SolidWorks Premium so don't have the more advanced Simulation software. I thought I could set an initial temperature (20 C) and then a destination temperature i.e. -40C and see what the corresponding deformations are and associated stresses. Having looked, I can't. I have Googled for answers but you guys are my next hope of an explantion.
