I have a fixture of a plastic molded part that I am trying to design. I would like to remove all undercuts in a certain direction of pull (straight up when viewed from right side view). I could use the parting line if that's how this part was being loading in oreintation to but it's not. I'm looking for any feedback to some techniques you all have used. I'm not well versed in the ways of surfacing so perhaps there is a solution there that I don't know. Attached is one of the parts I'm working with. I have turned on draft visulization to illustrate the surfaces that need to be relieved. The areas of interest are all the little ones towards the top of the part, not the big surface underneath. That can be done in a separate setup.
Right now i'm just projecting curves on the surfaces that I manually sketch along the draft visulization lines. Then converting them to 3d sketches and using those lines to cut in the direction of pull. Seems kind of a hack way to to it so I figured there must be a different way.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you guys can give!
