Hey guys this is probably a pretty noob question, but I am trying to create a small tab in a rectangle that, when flat, keeps the shape of the rectangle.  Unfortunately, short of making two separate pieces, I can't seem to figure out the technique to create this small tab from the original rectangle.  Any siggestions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

Here is as close as I get.  Unfortunately, using this method, I am unable to make another flange off the longest side of the object because the two pieces are not merged.
