Hi,

I recently upgraded my laptop to a HP ZBook Power 16 running Windows 11 and I've found SW2024 SP5 Professional really unstable. I get multiple crashes each day, mostly from the Solidworks UI locking up. My VAR has looked into it and done a clean re-install and updated graphics drivers, but now says there is nothing more they can do unless I can capture a crash with Rx Captures. Unfortunately, the steps that lead to the crashes are never directly repeatable, and seem to stem from an inherent instability in Solidworks. I was running SW2025 SP5 on a HP ZBook G7 prior to this with Windows 10 and while it had the occasional crash it was no-where near as unstable. I work on assemblies with 2000-7000 parts and so I'm wondering if Windows 11 can't manage RAM properly?

The kinds of issues I've found:

• Files often not opening in Solidworks when double clicked from Windows Explorer.
• Moving items in the feature tree of both parts and assemblies freezing the SW UI and I have to restore the SW window to re-interact with the UI. Occasionally this fix doesn't work and I have to kill SW through task manager.
• Relations in parts and assemblies being linked erroneously to new features or parts when the original feature or part is edited. E.g a part coincident referenced off of a hole feature has it's relation moved to a different hole feature in the same location after having rolled back the feature tree.
• Creating a new drawing from part, and SW freezes and crashes when I try to drag a view in from the sidebar.
• A lot more low resources and critical resource warnings than on my old computer, even though both had the same 32GB of RAM.
• Various situations where the UI locks up and I can no longer click on anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what potential causes might be?
