Solidworks 2024 sp5.0
I've had no freezing issues on this version of SW when saving drawings, until now.
One particular drawing I had started with 1 drawing sheet and saved, near-instantly. (Fairly small simple assembly)
Later I returned to this drawing and added sheet 2,3, and 4. I tried to save and SW froze for 30+ minutes
until I finally closed the program.
This kept happening after trying every fix recommended:
-changing the detailing performance
-ctrl Q rebuild
-restart
etc.
But the drawing would freeze every time I tried to save it (still with 1 drawing sheet, as the additional sheets didn't save).
I tried Save As but SW froze before any dialogue opened.
I tried Pack and Go but SW froze in the saving process.
I tried copying and pasting the file into a temporary folder, opening in detailing mode - this saved successfully.
I tried copying and pasting the file into a temporary folder, opening in lightweight mode - this saved successfully.
I tried copying and pasting the file into a temporary folder, opening in resolved mode - this saved successfully.
So at this point I thought I'd fixed whatever was going on, since I was now able to save the previously un-saveable file.
However, if I even try to add just a 2nd drawing sheet (blank), the file becomes un-saveable again.
Why would SW have such a problem with adding one blank sheet?
It seems the problem is therefore not in the geometry or references, but something in the number of sheets.
