Our company just recently upgraded to Solidworks 2013 and it has been a discouraging process. Everytime I try to open an existing drawing file or create a new one, it instantly crashes. It also crashes when in a sketch and I click on the convert entities button. With both cases, the SW exit app crashes when sending an error report. Has anyone else experienced this issue? SWExperts claim that it is my video card because it isn't SW approved, but these don't sound like video card issues. This video card ran SW 2012 without any problems other than the missing Realview feature.
Here's my system specs:
Alienware M17x R4
Intel i7-3820
32GB RAM
Windows 7 64bit
AMD Radeon HD 7970m (not SW certified)
I've tried switching between the intregrated graphics and the discreet card with no luck, the program has been wiped and reinstalled, I'm not sure what else could be the problem. I believe that a NVIDIA Quadro K5000M will fit in the laptop, but that is \$1800 and I'm not convinced that would even solve the problem. Any ideas?
