After some hardware and software issues, I need to perform a clean re-install of SolidWorks 2008 to a standalone workstation. I have a re-formatted hard drive with a fresh install of Vista 64-bit and am installing SW 2008 64-bit from my original DVD. After I enter the serial number, the installation proceeds normally, but instead of eventually prompting me to enter my activation code, it is taking me to a screen to enter a server address. I don't see any option to go to the SolidWorks site for activation ... maybe there is some firewall or other port setting that I need to change, but I am stuck at this point ... any ideas? Note: I do otherwise have a good connection to the internet. Thanks.
