I have a lid to a box where the initial perimeter is linked to the recessed surface of the mating part in an assembly.  I can extrude the part, and everything appears normal.  When I go to put any holes or features  in the body, the main body, the outside face disappears and leaves the solid model to appear hollow. The attached image should appear with holes, not bosses. Thank you for any help.
