Suppressed Sketches

While revising an old, complex and large part model I noticed some strange behaviour - or maybe not?

This model has multiple configurations that represent various components which make up it's final form.  I noticed that some of the newly introduced loft profiles and curves were suppressed in some of the other configurations.  Still, the loft works - eg is not suppressed and seems to mostly honor the profiles and curves...

For now, fearing that the file is misbehaving (corrupt?) I have unsuppressed the nested sketches as a precaution; but if this behaviour is intended, then it could be useful to us as some lofts rebuild much faster without all the control curves.  In the latter case, one could have an upper level assembly in which a close resemblence is good enough but rebuilds much more quickly; while in the control drawing the curves could be left in play to assure proper controls...

I would really appreciate anyone's comments... ...is this something to be used, or is it something to be feared?  I hope that someone else has noticed this...
