Hi everyone,
I have a valid SOLIDWORKS Student Edition license and SOLIDWORKS is working correctly on my computer. However, I cannot access the student training/course content on MySolidWorks.
I am trying to figure out how to link my Student Edition license to my MySolidWorks account.
Here is what I know:
- I have a valid SOLIDWORKS Student Edition license.
- My SOLIDWORKS serial number starts with 9020, so it should be a Student Edition serial number.
- SOLIDWORKS is activated and works normally on my computer.
- However, when I log into MySolidWorks, my Account Type is “Guest”.
- Under My Profile → My Subscription, I only see the Guest/Professional subscription information.
- There is no “Student” section and no “Register” option where I could enter my 9020 serial number.
- I also tried creating another MySolidWorks account using the email address where I found the original SOLIDWORKS welcome/registration email. That account is also shown as Guest.
- I cannot find anywhere in the SOLIDWORKS desktop application which MySolidWorks email address is associated with my Student license.
I found SOLIDWORKS documentation/FAQ that says that a Guest account should be able to register the 9020 Student Edition serial number under something like:
My Profile → My Subscription → MySolidWorks Account → Student → Register
However, this option simply does not exist in my account.
I also tried following the Student registration link, but it redirects me to the normal MySolidWorks page instead of providing a registration form.
So I am wondering:
How can I currently link my 9020 Student Edition license to my MySolidWorks account and change the account from Guest to Student?
Has the registration process changed for the 2026 Student Edition? Or is there another way to activate the Student entitlement for MySolidWorks?
I would really appreciate any help. I would specifically like to access the MySolidWorks student training/course content, which I understand should be included with the Student Edition.
Thank you!
