Structure System Intersection

I am having an issue with using Structure System on a "hoop" shaped rebar and with being able to get this to come out correctly in a rebar cutlist.

When I create the sketch and use Structure System to create the rebar, the intersection where the two ends meet (shown on the left side of the image) cause an issue where it splits the rebar into two pieces at a tangent edge (see right side of image).

I tried using the intersection tool to combine the tangent edge but it also combines the ends and when I input a rebar cutlist table into a sheet, it doesn't pull up the length of the rebar.

So I'm wondering if there's a way to combine only the tangent edge and not the ends (whether through the corner management tool or by other means). I don't mind leaving the ends intersecting (but not combined) in the drawing itself since our production guys can simply lay them against each other and then just tie them together.

I'm hoping to avoid having to actually draw the ends so they lay on top of each other (i.e. bending the end legs ever so slightly so they don't intersect at all) but if that's the only solution, then so be it.

If there are any other solutions to something like this, I'd love to hear them as well.

Thanks!
