SolidWorks, Give us a standalone translator for importing files.

I'm currently importing files from OEM's (in this case, STEP files from Ford) and the first file I tried to open this morning took five hours before I gave up (I was using 3D Interconnect, maybe that's the problem). 

DURING THAT TIME I CAN NOT USE SOLIDWORKS!!

How do we deal with this.  In the past we could have our second computer running these, but that agreement we had when I purchased the software (you remember, that was one of the selling points we shook hands on??!!) has been recended. 

YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT PRODUCTIVITY. 

Does anybody have any solutions to this problem.  As it stands this may take several weeks to get all these files translated.   And that doesn't include any repair attempts.
