In the attached image, part A and B are inside an assembly.

Now, A is getting welded to B. A major part of A is inside B (invisible in the image) 

The shape of B is a bit complex ( shape of a cone).

What can i do to trim the section of A that is projecting outside B. Is there any tool like split that could be used in assembly environment ?
