This is less of a question, more of a vent / curious if this happens to anyone else. 

I've used several other CAD softwares before Solidworks and I'm still a fairly new user (4 months). Throughout my entire CAD experience, I've used a space mouse from 3DConnexion (20+ years). I'm not sure when I developed this habit, but when I zoom in and out, I typically use the space mouse and the scroll wheel simultaneously. 

When using the spacemouse to zoom and rotate while also using the scroll wheel to zoom, Solidworks will shift the center of rotation to someplace unexpected and the parts will fly off the screen. This was maddening to try and figure out what was causing the problem, and made the software practically unusable for me for quite a while. 

I realize that this a "me" problem, and it drove me crazy until I found ways to work around it. At first I set a radial menu to have a "zoom to fit" function so I could at least get the parts back on the screen. Once I figured out the the "dual zoom" was the root cause of the problem I tried increasing the speed of the zoom on the space mouse to try and alleviate my urge to speed it up with the scroll wheel. Even with the space mouse speed maxed out and almost difficult to control, I still had the habit of using the scroll wheel too. Eventually I found that I am the least frustrated by disabling the zoom of the space mouse and zooming entirely with the scroll wheel. This is moderately annoying, but it at least keep my parts on the screen while I'm working. I'm not anticipating this niche case to get any support from either Solidworks or 3DConnexion unless there is a massive following of this post with a million likes (very unlikely) but if this has happened to you, I'd like to know I'm not alone! Perhaps you know of a better solution that I haven't thought of yet too. I'd love to hear it! 🙂
