I'm an experienced SolidEdge user but I have not knowledge on Solidworks. Here comes my question:

As a free lance designer, I'm designing a machine for a customer. My CAD system is Solid Edge, the customer uses SWX instead.

We agree on sharing geometries data using x_t and dwg format, but I was looking for something better in order to be able to transmit metadata too: codes, descriptions, surface treatments, revision numbers, raw materials, etcetc.

I see that JT format claims that it can do that, but how is the import capabilities of Solidworks regarding this file type?

Is there somebody here that can do a little test? I attach a sample file.
