SW 2015 Standard, SP 5, Windows 7.
I've been running SW 2015 for about 1.5 years on the same Windows 7 machine with no problems. A few weeks ago it began to randomly hang on the splash screen at startup, maybe 1 out of 4 sessions. I can't attribute the crash to any recently installed programs or Windows updates, but that could be the cause. What works for me is to open Windows Task Manager, Applications, and kill Splash.exe. Then select the Processes tab, click the "Show processes from all users" button, and right-click, "end process" for any and all SW related processes such as: sldProdMon.exe, SLDWORKS.exe, swvbaserver.exe *32, and any other sld or sw processes running. Then exit Task Manager and start SW again. Now it loads fine until it gets autistic again a few days later. Hope this helps someone.
