I am making a frame out of 8020 extruded aluminum for a flight The frame will be connected to the floor via floor plates; the frame will be connected to the floor plates using aluminum brackets, although the floor plate will still be in contact with the floor (see Figure A).

I had originally set up on our lab computer to have the beam-floor plate interface be a "No Penetration" contact, since it is not actually connected to the floor plate itself but instead through the brackets. However, it turns out SolidWorks does not permit me to do that. I was wondering why doesn't SolidWorks permit no-penetration contacts for beams?
