Hi Everyone,

I am building a part that is a honeycomb perforated structure that has 5 sides like a box without a lid. I built this part using repeating a linear pattern and then applying extruded boss. This has made solidworks extremely slow. The build times are really long and whenever I change something in the sketch and exit, it just becomes unresponsive for 5 minutes or so.

I was also receiving Low System Resource errors from solidworks, despite that around 40% of Ram was free for use. I solved this by increasing GDI elements in the registry.

I checked task manager and while solidworks is busy and non-responsive, it never uses more than 300-500 Mb of Ram, which doesn't make sense to me.

Is it supposed to happen like that or is there something wrong?

My system specs are,

Solidworks 2016 sp3

Core i7 2.5 GHz

8 GB Ram

Radeon R5 Graphics Card.
