Hello Solidworks community!

My company just got (the network version of) Solidworks Inspection 2025 and it is new to me but practically one to one for the previous program we were using in the past. I am using the Solidworks inspection Standalone version on a PDF file. I have a few problems but the most annoying is that I cannot save my "Characteristic Default Settings". There are a number of settings under the "Project Options" tab that once you select your preferences and continue to hit Apply>OK, the settings are not changed. This is very frustrating because this data entry is why we got this program. 

For example, I want all Position GTOL callouts to be measured by CMM. Navigating to the "Home" Ribbon > Options > Project Options > Characteristic > Select dropdown menu for Geometric tolerance > Select Position > Select "CMM" in "Default Inspection Method" dropdown menu > Click Apply > OK.

I have tried every variation of the saving process. Nothing works. Our IT guy seems to think this is user error saying quote, "SW has had 15 years to make sure the user settings save in the user space. Thats development 101". I have tried everything from new project templates, save as, compatibility mode, having solidworks 2025 open along side inspection, going from the Add-Ins.

Any help is appreciated.
