New PC, Dell M6600, fully loaded. (Updated)
New install of SW2011_RC5 and SW2012_RC1 on a new PC. Initially I thought this problem only happened when loading a part but it also happens shortly after attempting to create a new part. When I load a part or an assembly or attempt to create a new part, after 2 to 10 seconds the screen bumps down a tiny bit and the program freezes. I then have to exit out.
Prior to loading or creating a part I can click around the menus all day long, modifying options, customizing toolbars etc. It is not until I try to do something with a part file that the problem surfaces.
Initially I was able to load a part and work on it. If I got past the first 30 seconds of working I was good to go. Initially the problem was intermittent. Sometimes a part would load and I could work on it, other times the system would freeze soon after loading. Lately, every time I open a part the system freezes. The same thing happens in SW2012.
I tried uninstalling all the software and removing all traces of the install through a registry scan and using the suggested .bat files of the SolidWorks web site for a clean uninstall. That did not help. I did it twice.
I cannot use the software or my new \$8,000.00 PC.
