When updating an assembly in composer from the solidworks assembly, If a part has had its geometry exploded prior to update it will be replaced with the unexploded part and any work that has been done to it in composer will be erased. So then all those changes have to be redone (in this case from memory). It seems pretty redundant having the ability to explode the geometry when it will be removed in the next update anyway. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it meant to work?
For further knowledge I want to be able to colour certain part faces (and if possible, edges) in composer for the purpose of instructing an assembly worker to apply grease or loctite or silicone etc. I could colour the faces in Solidworks but I would prefer not to have to have the part coloured, as it may be used in other assemblies without that step.
