I am creating a manual using 2014 Solidworks Composer. The composer (SMG) file is about 18 MB, and contains an assembly of over 200 components. Whenever I save the file LOCALLY, or open it with Composer or Composer Player, it takes about 30 minutes to complete the task. I have tried to open it on different computers with the Player, and got the same result. I have also saved the file as Composer product, and here are the results: SMGGEOM-4.94 MB, SMGSCE-25.5 MB, SMGVIEW-214 MB, SMGXML-5.54 MB. Does anybody know why it needs this long to complete these simple tasks? This problem really defeats the whole purpose of Composer if it takes this long to open a manual. Thank you for the help.

My computer specs are:

Core i7 3770

16GB RAM

AMD Firepro V7900 with 2GB RAM

Windows 7 64 bit

One more thing I notice is as the file gets progressively bigger, it also takes longer to open and save it.
