Solidworks 3D to scan or VX modeler

I am looking to upgrade my SW license to 3D to scan or purchase VX modeler for generating parts for tooling/manufacturing. I understand there will be surface cleanup, modification and creation of new surfaces. The proto parts being scanned are very good in terms of surface finish and are scanned in Creaforms scanner - this is a plus to start with. In some cases, based on simple shaped parts, I can see the scanned geometry needing very little cleanup work before thickened. The manufacture process in all cases will be injection molding - thickened surfaces and A/B parts tooling.

I have not used/trial use of either program to make my own judgments. Any input/suggestions would be helpful.

Thank you!
