I have SolidWorks 2016 installed on my backup laptop for testing and am working with the new Mate Controller but am having trouble getting my Limit Distance mates that are in my subassemblies to show up in the list or being able to manually add them to the list.
The only mates that show up in the list automatically are the mates applied in the assembly document and none of the subassembly mates will come in.
I can't find a way to manually select to add them either.
What am I missing or doing wrong?
In my main assembly I have a subassembly of a CNC grinder with another subassembly of a linear slide to move a gripper along the X axis with a limit distance mate and another subassembly with a linear slide mated to the X axis slide that is for the Y axis (vertical) that also has a limit distance mate then attached to the Y axis slide is an arm with a gripper at the end that will pickup parts to be ground and place them into the grinder chuck (see image below). The only mates I am getting are the ones I used to assemble the subassemblies but none of the limit distance mates that are in the subassemblies are accessible and these are the ones I need to be able to animate the parts loader. I am just trying to get a rough concept to our customer of how we could load their parts into the machine and would like to be able to give them and AVI video file of this o demonstrate how it would work but I haven't had much luck yet.
Thanks for you help.
Tony
