I am using SolidWorks 2015 Beta and the Part and Assembly icons in Windows Explorer are all the same. In SolidWorks 2014, you could easily distinguish between Part Files and Assembly Files based on their Explorer Icons. In 2015 they are currently all the same. If you do not have file extensions on, you cannot see which is a Part, which is an Assembly and which is a Drawing. Anyone know if this is changing for the actual release?
