Snap hook Design and feature issues

I am currently designing a housing that I would like to fasten together with 4 snap hooks.

One thing I would like to point out right off the bat is the solid works Snap hook feature does not have an option for the return angle needed for removable snap hooks. (see first image below). Am I missing something, or is it best do model the snap hook from scratch in order to include a return angle for disassemble.

Second, I was hoping to pick the brain of the community for ideas on how best to accomplish this with the small housings I have. There is not much room to increase the size of the snap hooks to gain more deflection. The current design and length will not work as it is so short that the maximum deflection is no where close to what I need for this to not snap off.

Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. BTW, there is no option of screwing these together. I must have a snap latch that allows for disassemble.

Model of 1 half is attached. Both halves are identical.
