Hi all,
I am really struggling here to create a simulation of a snap fit. Can someone please help me create it with the correct conditions in simulation. I have seen so many videoes and search the whole internet. I can read that somebody has access to a snap fit in their simulation design library, but I don't have that, I don't know why.
Two round shells, Ø100mm, one has a lip, one has a groove, where they connect. They are connected with 3 snap fits, and one snap fit can be released by inserting a flat head screwdriver in a small slit between the two shells.
I have divided the validation into 3 steps.
- Check if the snap-arm itself can stand the stress of bending 1 mm in Prescribed Displacement.
- When the two parts is connected, how does the non-linear study look like?
Best case scenario would be a drop-test, showing that the two parts will withstand the impact, and not fall apart/or the snap hooks will not break.
