I have been using Solidworks for over a decade and have come upon a recent problem with Smart Dimensions. The workflow used to go as such:
- select Smart Dimensions
- select entity (line for example)
- Modify Window opens with cursor on the dimension line.
- type in dimension
- hit enter
- All subsequent edits of that dimension require double click
The current workflow doesn't automatically open the Modify window but works like the following.
- select Smart Dimensions
- select entity (line for example)
- Dimension gets locked in at whatever it happens to be.
- double click the dimension
- place cursor in dimension field
- hit enter or the green check
Things I have done to try and get it work like the first workflow
- turned off instant 2D
- enabled on screen numeric inputs
Has anyone else had this issue or know how to get the old workflow?
