Hello,
I am having some difficulty getting my assembly to react accordingly under certain conditions. I would very grateful if someone could help me out. I have included a file for review. In the file I have a Wedged Window that sits on a Teflon Washer. I put a 1,000 psi uniform load normal to the 2 deg inclined surface and place a -76 deg F Temperature Load on both the Window and Washer. I'm looking to simulate this condition so that the Window and Washer can Contract with the Temperature, with a Coefficient of Friction between the Window and Washer of ~.03. In order to to simulate this correctly, what type of Contact Set would be used, and what would be the correct way to hold the washer in place and allowing it to move freely under these conditions? In reality this assembly will all be incased in a Window Cell, which has not been design at this time. I'm just running studies on the strength of the Window, mainly to see if it can withstand this condition. I believe I'm close in what I've been trying so far, but I'm still learning how to use the Contact Sets and fixtures and really need an expert if possible. Thank you for your time.
