This is with regards to simulation of a simple compound gear train.
After performing the necessary gear calculations to determine the correct no. of teeth, SW prompts that "Model started in colliding position. Simulation will continue and ignore these collisions."
1) Why is it that even after doing the necessary gear calculations, there is still interference detected? I've checked my calculations.
2) After clicking "Ok" to this prompt, SW will simulate continously, while sometimes, it just simulate a few frames and then stop simulating, as if the model has a jam somewhere? Why such inconsistency?
3) Lastly, how do I check where is the interference coming from? I've read about using Collision Detection or the Interference Detection button in the assembly toolbar, but it's not really able to help me. For collision detection, I hear some sounds but where it comes from I'm not sure. In Interference Detection, a red affected area appears, but from calculations, there appears to be nothing wrong.
My skill to Solidworks is "Beginner" and I'm using version 2007.
I'll rework the model again and upload a shot in due course. Meanwhile, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Kind regards,
Faith.
