Simulating Electrical Resistance and Heat

Hello everyone,

I'm working on a project that requires me to heat up a metal tip very rapidly using AC power to melt plastic, and I'd like to know if I can utilize simulation to design the tip. We have been having issues getting heat to concentrate where we need it to be, and I'm hoping that some feature in simulation may be able to assist with the geometry of the tip. Below are some pictures of tips that are working. You can see the slit down the sides that help to direct the power to the dome of the tip. Each side has one leg of the AC power hooked to it (which is coming off of a transformer).

Again, what I need to do is simulate how the power affects the tip and get the geometry just right so all the heat is concentrated in the dome. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate it!
