SHOULD I USE CONFIGURATIONS TO SHOW PARTS ROTATED?

I have an assembly of 10 components, and I want to show one component rotated at different angles.   Is an assembly configuration the best way to show this?

I am designing a rotating machining fixture, and need to rotate at various angles.  If I use a mate to lock it, then I have to painfully go back and find the mate, delete it, rotate the component then mate it again.   There has to be a better way.       I have searched help and training for configurations, but am not finding how to do this simple task..

Are configurations just for show and hide of components?
