We had an angry customer last week who installed 2015 Beta to his production environment, oblivious to the three prompts telling him he was about to install a beta version.
The reseller is adamant that Help > Check for Updates should never show a BETA version. The reason is that most users aren't sophisticated enough to know not to install a beta software and if a user 'check for updates' it shouldn't prompt to install a pre-release version. I can see their point, even though I do think it punishes more savvy users by not notifying them they can get involved in beta.
Should a production 2014 release introduce users to 2015 BETA as a potential update?
