When converting an imported .STEP, either through Convert-To-SheetMetal or Recognize Features, Solidworks 14 generates a SheetMetal folder with the Sheetmetal feature in it. The folder has SheetMetal settings but the SheetMetal feature also has it's own settings. And since they are not coupled your error margin goes up. When modeling a SheetMetal part the normal way the folder is not generated. Why is that? What is the difference between both?
