When adding thick sheet metal (getting into Plate thickness instead of Sheet), is there a trick to make the "Thickness (gauge)" column cooperate?

- For example, if you want to add 3/8" or 1/2" plate, you can enter the value in the "Thickness (in)" column, but values in the "Thickness (gauge)" column will return this error -

"Invalid Thickness Value"

Once you get to "Plate" thicknesses, there really isn't a "gauge value" that can be keyed in - I swear that I saw a workaround for this, but I can't seem to find it.
